Steven Hill

Artistic Director

Steven Hill is the Artistic Director of Leaky Heaven Circus and has directed each of the productions since the formation of the company in 1999.  With a team of long-term collaborators he has concocted both new works and adaptations of classics. His work is known for its freewheeling juxtaposition and genre–jamming. He has an interest in rule-based creation and works with a wide variety of artists from a wide variety of disciplines. He is also a writer and performer and a member of the faculty at Simon Fraser University's School for Contemporary Arts.

Adriana Bucz

Managing Producer

Adriana Bucz had been performing various roles and functions around the Leaky Heaven Circus for a few years, until Steven Hill convinced her to quit her well-paying union job with benefits and join the circus permanently. Which she happily did. Adriana manages the office and studio space, produces events, writes grants, creates programming, balances budgets, schedules everyone’s lives, researches things, and organizes chaos into order. Adriana trained as a theatre artist at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts, and works as a freelance director, actor, and dramaturg in Vancouver and throughout Canada. She has worked with such diverse artists as Michael Springate, Mascall Dance, Maya Suess, and Craning Neck Theatre. Adriana is a sessional instructor at Simon Fraser University, and is a member of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas. She checks her email every thirty minutes.
